Helen Goff - 1915-2008
Helen Elizabeth Clark Goff, 92, of Ashland, died Saturday in Trinity Station in Flatwoods.
She was born July 13, 1915, in Ashland, the daughter of the late DeWitt Talmadge and Anna Smith Clark. She was the widow of Foster F. Goff, who died in 1993.
She was a 1933 graduate of Ashland Senior High School and served as a court clerk to the late Judge A.R. Imes. She was secretary of Goff Electronics Inc. and was employed by the former Ashland Home Telephone Co. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ashland and a former member of the Goldenaires.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Carter Courtney Clark and Harry Marvin Clark; and two sisters, Ann Clark Hensley and Alberta Frances Clark.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Goff Tanner (Robert) of Charlottesville, Va., and Susan Goff Lyons (Scott) of Lexington; six grandchildren, Jane B. Tanner, William W. Tanner, Ann Tanner Keifer, Benjamin C. Ward, Elizabeth F. Ward and Leigh T. Ward; and four great-grandchildren, Grace Tanner, James Tanner, Lydia Keifer and Alex Keifer.
A graveside service will be at noon Monday at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum Chapel by the Rev. Gene Pillow. Entombment will be in the mausoleum.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Monday at the burial park chapel.
