Helen Cignoni (1928-2008)
Helen Wilder Cignoni, 80, of Westwood, passed away Sunday afternoon, Oct. 26, 2008.
Helen was born Jan. 8, 1928, in Montague, Mass., to the late Franklin Elijah Wilder and Rosa Gerharz Wilder Tumminelli. She worked as a seamstress for Topping-Christian & Parsons and was a member of Gospel Temple.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Wilder and two sisters, Shirley Maloney and Rosemary Papadakis.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Cignoni of Louisville, Ky., and James (Bonnie) Cignoni of Ironton, Ohio; two daughters, Nancy (Bob) Gainer of Westwood and Ann (Clyde) O'Dell of Lavallette, W.Va.; one sister, Marilyn Loomis of Feeding Hills, Mass.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; stepgrandchildren, extended family and friends, including a special grandson, Brandon Layne who is deployed with the 201st Engineering Battalion in Afghanistan.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008 at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood by Brother Larry Riley. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum in Ashland.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at the funeral home.
