Glen Willis (1933-2008)
Glen Edward Willis, 75, of Ashland, died Friday in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born July 5, 1933, in Ironton, Ohio, the son of the late Garford and Leona Griffith Willis. He was a partner in Wil-Gra Builders for 30 years and worked in the marine industry the last 15 years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he was a member of the church council and a deacon for 25 years. He was a Kentucky colonel.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Irven Willis.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Peggy Moore Willis; three sons, Michael S. Willis of Ashland, Richard "Rick" Willis and his wife, Elizabeth, of Paducah and Jamie E. Willis and his wife, Dee, of Paducah; a brother, Donald Ray Willis and his wife, Shirley, of Wheelersburg; a sister, Betty Willis Shearer and her husband, Jerry, of Ironton; six grandchildren, Benjamin Willis, Steffanie Willis, Josh Willis, Brooke Crisp, Brian Willis and Laura Willis; and four great-grandchildren, Quentin Willis, Isaiah Willis, Kevin Willis and Caden Crisp.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Rose Hill Mausoleum in Ashland by the Rev. Mark A. Kloha.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
