Geraldine Virginia Mooney (1927-2008)
Geraldine Virginia Mooney, 80, of Ironton, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Ashland native was born Nov. 3, 1927, the daughter of the late Paul and Beulah Burns Lambert.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde Raymond Mooney, whom she married in November 1946.
Mrs. Mooney attended school in Ashland. She was of the Baptist faith but attended Sedgewick United Methodist Church in Ironton. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn Lambert.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Steve Cordle of Rush, Ky.; a son and daughter-in-law, Carl "Butch" and Gretchen Mooney of Edison, Ohio; four grandchildren, Laura Lee of Phoenix, Matt and Jodi Mooney of Mansfield, Ohio, Jeremy Mooney of Mesa, Ariz., and Courtney and John Floyd of Rush; four great-grandchildren, Montana Lee, Brooke Mooney, Caden Floyd and Sophia Floyd; and a brother and sister-in-law, Aaron and Tody Lambert of Ashland.
A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland by the Rev. James Cremeans.
Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, Ohio.
