George M. Ward, 76, of South Point, Ohio, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018, at his residence.
He was born March 11, 1942, in Sandy Hook, Kentucky, a son of the late Charles and Thelma Adkins Ward.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Zeolla Adams Ward; two brothers, Herbert H. Ward and Burl H. Ward; step mother, Juanita McDade; two step sons, Frank Adams and Gary Adams; and a nephew, Ricky Ward.
George was a retired Pipefitter with Local 521 in Huntington, West Virginia. He was a member of Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. 350, Ashland Eagles and the Moose Lodge in Ironton, Ohio.
Survivors include a sister, Lois Jean Ward of Vincennes, IN; brother, Charles Ward, Jr. and wife, Lois of Ashland; step daughter, Gloria Martin of Ashland; nieces, Dr. Teresa Mason, M.D., and Renaye Sparks; nephews, Keith Ward, Craig Ward, Kevin Mason and Randy Ward; and a special friend, Gloria Barber of Port Charlotte, FL.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2018, at Rose Hill Burial Park with Chaplain Jimm Smedley officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel.
