Gene E. Farley, 83, of Ashland, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 7, 1928, in Huntington, W.Va., the son of the late W.F. and Grace Poston Farley.
He was retired from Armco Steel in the blast furnace division and was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Jean Wallace Farley.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy (Barry) Stutler of South Point, Ohio; two sons, Tim (Donna) Farley of South Point and Chris (Lisa) Farley of Ashland; a stepdaughter, Rebecca (Tom) Reed of South Point; two stepsons, Bill (Katie) Kinder of South Point and Joe (Sandy) Kinder of Wilmington, Ohio; a stepsister, Nancy Burton of Florida; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at noon Friday, July 6, 2012, at Rose Hill Mausoleum in Ashland by Minister Jim Stamper.
The family will receive friends after 11 a.m. Friday at the Mausoleum.
Miller Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave., Ashland KY 41101.
