ASHLAND - Fred Wallen "Scotty" Adkins, 74, of Ashland, died May 6, 2011, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 30, 1936, in Ashland, a son of the late Ambress Adkins and Ruth Coburn Adkins.
He was retired from Armco Steel, served in the Army National Guard and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are the mother of his children, Iris Joan Hart; sons Matthew D. Adkins and wife Joy of North Lauderdale, Fla., and Clay A. Adkins of Ashland; grandchildren Candace, Kendra, Ashley, Kayla, Briana and Caitlin; and great-grandchildren Cameron, Bryson and Braylon.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Charles Willard "Todd" Nibert. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
