Esther Ruth Blanton - 1928-2009
Esther Ruth Blanton, 80, of Ashland, Ky., died Monday, March 9, 2009, in Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson, Ky.
She was born Dec. 9, 1928, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Oliver Blanton and Bessie Lemaster Blanton.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Louise Brown.
She was a retired waitress with Ashland Oil, a Kentucky colonel, a member of Women of the Moose Ironton Chapter 1847 and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are nieces Patrica Sexton and Brenda Deborde, both of Grayson, Sharon Dixon of Westwood, Ky., and Robin Swain of Reedsville, Ohio; seven great-nieces and great-nephews; and six great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today, March 12, 2009, at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland by the Rev. Jack McKinney. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
