Erwin "Stu" Davidson - 1926-2008
Erwin "Stu" Davidson, 81, of Salem, Va., formerly of Ashland, passed from this life on Monday, April 28, 2008, at his residence.
He was born June 5, 1926, in Wise County Va., the son of the late Garrett and Pearl Baker Davidson.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Helen McCoy Davidson; two brothers, Garrett H. Davidson and Colbert "Dave" Davidson; and a sister, Beulah June Hamilton.
Survivors include his son, Philip E. Davidson of North Wilkesboro, N.C.; two sisters, Pauline Dockery of Wise, Va., and Mary Evelyn Mullins of Roanoke, Va.; three grandchildren, Jo Ellen Southworth of Lexington, Ky., Kelli Vought of Lake City, Fla., and Tara Beth Davidson of Versailles, Ky.; and four great-grandchildren.
He was retired from C&O Railroad as a brakeman and from the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier.
He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy, stationed on the USS Walter B. Cobb.
Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today, April 30, 2008, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008, at Miller Funeral Home by Randy Hamilton. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
