Erma H. Wright - 1925-2008
Erma H. Wright, age 83, of Ashland, Ky., died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, in Community Hospice Care Center surrounded by loved ones.
She was born July 26, 1925, in New Boston, Ohio, a daughter of the late Walter Malcolm Hill and Mary Lee Floyd Hill. In addition, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Morton Wright; three brothers, Floyd Hill, Jarvey Hill and Walter Hill and one sister, Anna Curtis.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ of Ashland.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Claudia and Louie Vonderheide and Eleanor "EJ" and Ed Black, all of Ashland; grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Marc and Muna Vonderheide of Ashland and Matt and Tammy Vonderheide of Flatwoods, Ky.; three stepgrandchildren, Shawn and Debbie Black of Florence, Ky., Jamie Black of Lexington, Ky., and Tawnee Messer of Catlettsburg, Ky.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren; and a special friend and caregiver, Parlee Smith.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland by Dr. Ike Nicholson. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Dec. 19, 2008 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 1930 Winchester Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
