Ella LaVerne Robinson, 91, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY.

Ella was born in Boyd County, KY on January 28, 1928 to the late Ernest and Ethel Grizzle. She was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Ella was a faithful member of Ashland First Baptist Church. She also served as a member of the Eastern Star and a local Bowling League where she never missed a practice (unless it interfered with her favorite… soap opera).

She is survived by two sons, Michael Robinson and wife Kim of Greenup and Joe Robinson and wife Rita of Ashland. She will be greatly missed by her three granddaughters Jacqueline (Shawn) Brown of Russell, Ky., Ashley (Peter) Bate of London, England and Leslie (Mitchell) Vincent of Ashland, Ky. and ALL her great-grandchildren Freya Bate, Gavin Vincent, and Max Vincent who all called her Granny-Ella. She is also survived by her brother Bill Grizzle and his wife Nora of Westwood, Ky. and Sister-in-law Merle West of Ashland, Ky.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in her name to the Community Hospice Center of Ashland, KY at 1480 Carter Avenue, Ashland, KY 41101.

The family extends their special thanks and extreme gratitude to very special niece Sharon Stephens (Raymond) and Ashley & Leslie’s mother Judy Robinson, Morning Pointe of Ashland especially Activities Coordinator Brittany who called her Ella Bella and treated her more like family and The Hospice Care Center of Ashland.
