Elizabeth "Libby" Houck Selby, 95, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at her residence.
She was born May 26, 1921, in Athens, Ohio, to the late John and Goldie Darnell Houck. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Curtis Selby; son, Charles Allen Mayhew; daughters, Karen Ann Kemper and Sandra Sue Grunow; brother, Henry C. Houck; and sisters, Mary Morris, Lucille Blankenship, Emma Rogers and Betty Jo Crooks.
Libby was a longtime member of Rose Hill Baptist Church and Wildwood Baptist Church, and taught Sunday school for 45 years. She was a 50 year volunteer for King's Daughters Hospital Auxiliary and was a loving and devoted homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Curtis L. (Debra) Selby of Frisco, TX; daughter, Carol W. (Lee) Johnson of San Antonio, TX; sons in law, Don Grunow of Virginia Beach, VA, and Jerry Kemper of Ashland; two sisters, Kathleen "Kay" Bailey and Evelyn "Bill" Wheeler both of Ashland; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at Rose Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Shamblin officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel.
