Earl Lavender, Jr., 83, of Ashland, Ky. died Friday, Dec. 7, 2018 at Kings Daughters Med. Center in Ashland. Earl was born Jan. 3, 1935 at Ohio Furnace, Ohio, a son of the late Earl Sr., and Goldie Mae Adkins Lavender. Earl was a retired Chief Engineer with the Municipal Electric Plant in Columbus, Ohio and was a US Air Force Veteran and a member of Ohio Furnace Baptist Church. Earl is survived by his wife, Catherine Robinson Lavender, a son and his wife, Michael & Reva Lavender of Lexington, Ky., two grandchildren Jordan Lavender and his wife Teresa, of Andover, Massachusetts, and Emily Lavender of Lexington, KY, two brothers and their spouses Roger & Sherri Lavender, and Larry and Pat Lavender all of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, three sisters and their spouses, Linda & Don Corn of Elyria, Ohio, Patty & Gary Gannon of Franklin Furnace, Ohio and Donna & Tom Spergin of Haver Hill, Ohio. Earl is proceeded in death by his parents and a sister Joyce Sprouse. Funeral services for Earl will be conducted on Monday, Dec. 10, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Lazear Funeral Home Chapel by his brother Rev. Roger Lavender with burial in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland, Ky. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before services on Monday, Dec. 10, 2018. Military rites will be conducted by Ceredo - Kenova American Legion Post 93, and arrangements have been entrusted to the Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland, Ky.
