Doris B. "Flo" Wheeler Wright (1940-2008)
Doris B. "Flo" Wheeler Wright, 68, of Ashland, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008 in Community Hospice Care Center.
She was born Aug. 1,1940, in New Jersey, the daughter of the late Clay and Colonia Hanby Cheesman. She was a very loving mother and grandmother who put others before herself. She will be deeply missed by all. She was a caterer for Ashland Oil Executive Parties. She also worked in the Ashland Oil cafeteria, worked at the Chimney Corner and cooked and catered for the Ashland Elks No. 350 BPOE.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Dean Wright; and two daughters, Doris Marie Fox Kelley and Debbie Fox.
She is survived by two daughters, Billey (BJ) Wheeler Porter and her husband, Virgil Jr., of Ashland and Sherri Lynn Wheeler Rakes and her husband, Larry Joe, of Olive Hill, Ky.; one son, Richard Bruner Jr. of South Carolina; four sisters, Nancy Allen, Marty Lucas, June Dunderly and Lou Ann Cheesman; one brother, Kley Cheesman; nine grandchildren, including Tammy Kelley-Burgess and Grover H. Kelley III, whom she raised and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, 2008 at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland with Pastors Don Marsh and D.C. Esham officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
