Clyde Miles - 1925-2010
Clyde Miles, 84, of Ashland, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, in Oakmont Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Dec. 20, 1925, in Boyd County, to the late David and Sarah Crabtree Miles. His wife, Pansy Lambert Miles, preceded him in death.
He was a Navy veteran and a self-employed bricklayer. He attended Ironville Enterprise Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Raymond Miles; four sisters, Susie Daniels, Julia Hale, Mae Caudill and Bessie Busby; and four brothers, Eugene Miles, Tom Miles, Carl Miles and Paul Miles.
He is survived by two sons, Clyde A. Miles of Ashland and Jason "J.D." Miles and wife Karen of Lawrence County, Ky.; two sisters, Virginia Huddleston and Polly Bell, both of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland by Pastor Jack Salyers. Interment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at the funeral home.
