Cloma Robinson - 1915-2008
Cloma Elizabeth Robinson, 92, of Ashland died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at Kingsbrook Life Care Center in Ashland. She was born July 16, 1915, in Elliott County, the daughter of the late Allen and Gemimah Johnson. She was the wife of the late Clyde S. Robinson. She will be remembered for her great love for Christ and her family. Her thoughts were always for others. Cloma was an accomplished cook and owned and operated the Paramount Restaurant in Ashland for several years with her sister, Mary Lee Johnson. Cloma also worked in a defense plant in Lansing, Mich., building B-24 planes while her husband fought on the Asian front during World War II.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters, all of Ashland, Clyde Johnson, Claude Johnson, Gladys Mullins, Mary Johnson, Ruby McMahan and Thelma Brackman.
Survivors include a son, Roger Robinson and his wife, Marjorie of Ashland; a sister, Lorayne Creech of Ashland; two grandchildren, Roger Robinson Jr. (Cindy) and Jill Robinson; six great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Casey, Kelli, Corey, Kaylee and Kenzi Robinson.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Second Freewill Baptist Church by Pastor Randy Skaggs. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
