ASHLAND - Clark Vaughan Wheeler, 56, of North Charleston, S.C., formerly of Ashland, died Friday, June 14, 2013, in South Carolina surrounded by his loving family.
Clark was born Aug. 19, 1956, in Ashland, a son of Mary Kathryn Phillips Wheeler of Ashland and the late Charles Dona Wheeler. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ramsey Cameron Wheeler, and a brother-in-law, Michael L. Cornett.
Clark was a 1974 graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School and a graduate of the University of Kentucky, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting. He also obtained an optician's license from Durham Technical Institute in Durham, N.C., and worked as a property manager for Park Circle LLC in North Charleston for 20 years.
Clark enjoyed his house on Folly Beach in South Carolina, where friends and family were always welcome and where he will always be missed.
Clark is also survived by sisters Leslie Wheeler Cornett of Lexington and Leigh Ann Mullins and husband Vernon of Flatwoods; brothers Dr. Charles P. "Chuck" Wheeler and wife Robin of Pikeville, Dr. Dana Wheeler of North Charleston and Lawrence E. Wheeler and wife Theresa of Pikeville; and a host of extended family, friends, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Mark A. Kloha. Visitation for family and friends will be after 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
