Charles Richard "Dick" Tiller (1928-2010)
Charles Richard "Dick" Tiller, 81, of Rush, died Wednesday evening Feb. 17, 2010, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
He was born June 18, 1928, in Boyd County, a son of the late Alonzo and Lillie Clark Tiller.
Mr. Tiller was a member of Rush Baptist Chapel and was a retired mechanic with Cline Brick Co. He helped to establish the Rush-Kilgore Community Development Club in 1972.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Griffith Tiller; a daughter, Thelma Gail Tiller; a brother, James Tiller; two sisters, Frances Coleman and Minnie Gee; and a granddaughter, Bree Hale Davis.
He is survived by two sons, Chuck Tiller of Rush and Dicky (Judy) Tiller of Rush; three daughters, Charlene (Chuck) McCown of Grayson, Linda Tiller of Ashland and Tammy (Darrel) Thornberry of Rush; two sisters, Mary Etta (Henry) Thomas of Rush and Teresa (Gary) Thomas of Sharonville, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Andi Sword, Steve McCown, Kevin Hale, Chad Thornberry, Logan Thornberry, Wendy Combs, Desarae Freeman and Jenni Tiller; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson by Jerry Foster. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Feb. 19, 2010, at the funeral home.
