Charles Thomas Scott, 82, of Ashland, died April 10, 2012, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Charles was born Nov. 15, 1929, in Ashland, a son of the late Edgar and Rosa Miranda Scott.
He was a Korean War veteran and a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church. He was a member of Millwright Local 1519 for 53 years and attended the Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital Vitality Center for 14 years.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were two brothers, John F. Scott of Kitts Hill, Ohio, and George E. Scott of Russell. Also deceased are four sisters, Ann Bradley of Baltimore, Md., Lenora Blanton of Ashland, Rachael Matheny of Huntington, W.Va., and Virginia Vyborney of San Antonio, Texas.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 62 years, Sara Fleming Scott, are a daughter, Susan Crabtree and her husband, Thomas, of Ashland; two granddaughters, Lori Doran and her husband, Michael, and Karen Crabtree, all of Ashland; and two great-grandchildren, Tristan McDavid and Elizabeth Doran. Surviving sisters are Alberta Vanover and Violet Bullion, both of Ashland, Nancy Fetters of Ironton, Ohio, and Donna Sue Curry of St. Albans, W.Va.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2012, at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland by Pastor Jim Yates. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 12, 2012, and after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
