Charles E. "Chuck" Leadingham, 74, of Ashland, husband of Lillian Leadingham, passed peacefully from this life, Sunday morning, February 18, 2018 at Community Hospice Care Center, with his family by his side.
Chuck was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on October 4, 1943 to the late Peter Melvin and Grace Yelley Leadingham. He was a 1961 graduate of Wheelersburg High School. Chuck proudly served his community as a former Board of Commissioners member of Westwood Volunteer Fire Department and was a former Chairman of the Drug and Alcohol Commission of Steelworkers Union Local #1865. He retired from AK Steel after 37 years of service as an Ore Bridge Crane Operator. He attended Westwood Christian Church, was a Kentucky Colonel and enjoyed retirement with his family on the farm.
In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles Leadingham, Jr. and Denise Leadingham, a brother, James Leadingham and a sister, Glenna Eagleson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lillian Osenton Leadingham of Ashland; one son, Thomas (Cindy) Leadingham of Westwood; one daughter, Mary Beth Vance (Terry) of Ashland; grandchildren, Ashton (Andrew) Wheeler, Morgan Patton, CJ Leadingham, Lacey (Tommy) Williams, Ashleigh Hood, Angela Dalton, Preston, Bethany Ledford and Brendan Fisher; great grandchildren, Paisley Williams, Cullen Williams, Raylin Williams, LillyGrace Wheeler and SophieBeth Wheeler ; along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Caniff Funeral Home with Chaplain Leon Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 PM.
