Charlene Williams - 1937-2008
Charlene Mae Alley Williams, of East Williams Drive, Summit, Ky., passed away early Monday morning, Dec. 15, 2008, from her residence, while surrounded by loved ones.
Mrs. Williams was 71 years of age, born Dec. 11, 1937, in Catlettsburg, a daughter of the late Charlie and Virginia Boyd Alley. She was homemaker, enjoyed sewing, cooking and reading, and was a faithful member of Rose Hill Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, and was a member of the choir and the Rosettes.
Surviving is Charlene's only child, her loving daughter, Mrs. Terri Branham and her husband Bruce of Catlettsburg. Her family also includes three brothers, Jim Alley, Frank Alley and Bill Alley, all of Catlettsburg; three sisters, Janet Roark of South Point, Ohio, Lois Marushi of Catlettsburg and Dotty Spradlin of Emporia, Va.; five grand children, Jessica Branham, Casey Branham, Ashley Chaffin, Paula Williams and Brooke Williams; and two adorable great-grandchildren, Michael Grant Chaffin and Laura Grace Chaffin.
The heavenly father saw fit and his will done in Charlene's life, that she give up both her sons, Michael Keith Williams in 1990 and Paul "Pooh Bear" Williams earlier this year. Also preceding in death are three brothers, Tom Alley, Roy Alley and John Alley.
A funeral service to recall the life of Charlene Williams will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at the Neal Funeral Home on Center Street in Catlettsburg. Pastor Gary Arrington will bring a message of solace and inspiration. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
