Cecil Lilly

September 2, 1931 — March 12, 2013

Cecil Jackson Lilly, 81, of Lexington, formerly of Ashland, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in the VA Medical Center, Leestown Campus in Lexington.

He was born Sept. 2, 1931, in Dunns, W.Va., to the late Donald Theodore and Daisie Cox Lilly.

Cecil was a man of few words with a clever sense of humor who had nicknames for those closest to him. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Kitchen Lilly; a daughter, Tina Lilly; a son, Richard Lilly, and his wife, Kim, and their children, Connor Jackson, Allison Brooke and Katherine Elizabeth, all of Lexington; and a brother, Nyle Lilly of Front Royal, Va.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Charles Lane. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum in Ashland.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
