Cecil "Bert" Frasure, 80, of Catlettsburg, Ky., died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at Woodland Oaks. He was born July 1, 1930, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to the late Evan and Flora Tackett Frasure. His wife, Georgianna Frasure, also preceded him in death in 2000. He was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church, retired from Allied Chemical-AK Steel after 35 years of service and was a Korean War Army Veteran.
Surviving are two sons, Bert Frasure (Montine) of Ashland and Andy Frasure (Cathi) of South Point, Ohio; a daughter, Kathryn "Kathy" Boyd of Catlettsburg, Ky.; three brothers, Andy Frasure (Louise) of South Gate, Mich., Robert Frasure (Sharon) of Blacksburg, Va. and Noah Frasure of Ashland; two sisters, Kathy (Ron) Clark of Ashland and Connie (David) Swimm of Ashland; 6 grandchildren, Sara Charles of Lexington, Jesse Frasure of Richmond, Va., Michael (Auburn) Boyd of Ashland, Megan Frasure of South Point, Ohio, Aaron Boyd of Ashland and Amy Frasure of South Point, Ohio; and four great-great grandchildren, Halley Charles, Laci Boyd, Noah Charles and Lexi Boyd.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Charles Stewart. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park with military rites by American Legion Post 93 of Kenova.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, at the funeral chapel.
