CAROLYN EVANS, 67, of Ashland, Ky., passed away Friday, July 31, 2009, at home. The memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, at Lazear Funeral Home, Ashland, by the Rev. Bert Valdes.
Carolyn was born July 23, 1942, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late Joseph and Geraldine Wilkes Valdes.
She was a retired manager with U.S. Airways and formerly was employed with C&O Railroad in Huntington.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Valdes.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Bill; a son, Bill Warner and his wife Connie of Grove City, Ohio; a daughter, Marilyn "Babe" Nance and her husband Jon, also of Grove City; two brothers, Bert Valdes of Huntington and Joseph "Bud" Valdes of Woodhaven, Mich.; two sisters, her twin Carmen Fossell of Huntington, and Norma Jean Valdes, also of Huntington; and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Carolyn touched us with her quick-witted charm, and she will be dearly missed by those who loved her.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Tuesday at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland.
Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
