Carl Clifford Wylie, 91, of Ashland, KY, passed away July 1, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 27, 1927, to the late Carl L. and Mallie Davis Wylie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gladys Brumfield Wylie in 2015. He was also preceded in death by three brothers.
Carl was a retired steam engineer in the power station at Allied Chemical, South Point, OH. He was in the Merchant Marines during WWII and served proudly in the Korean conflict. He was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ and the Elks BPOE 350 Lodge.
Carl is survived by his daughter, Betsy Neese and husband, Greg, of Ashland, KY; grandsons, Bill Hammond Jr. of Wilmington, NC, Timothy Neese and wife, Jackie, of Ashland, and Stephen Neese and wife, Mindy, of Summerdale, AL; six great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Cheryl Ray and husband, Fred, of Dublin, OH.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 6, 2018 at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ and will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Isaac Nicholson. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park with military rites by Kenova American Legion Post 93.
Visitation will be at the church Friday from 1 p.m. until service time.
