ASHLAND - Carl Frederick Quade, age 79, of Ashland, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at his residence.
He was born Dec. 29, 1931, in Ashland, a son of the late Arthur G. and Doris Gallaher Quade.
He retired from the marketing department at Ashland Oil. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, a 1950 graduate of Ashland High School, a graduate of Ashland Junior College and attended Marshall University. He was a member of Ashland Elks BPOE No. 350, a coach with the Ashland Babe Ruth League for 26 years and a Kentucky colonel. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.
Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Nancy Kahne Quade of Ashland; sons, Mark (Linda) Quade of Flatwoods and Michael Quade of Ashland; daughters, Merry Denny of St. Louisa, Mo., and Noé�l (Adam) Davis of Raceland; brothers, Dr. Arthur Gilbert (Joan) Quade of Brecksville, Ohio, and James Leslie (Thelma) Quade of Ashland; grandchildren, Philip Denny, Benjamin Denny, Jame� Watters, Carrie Tomblyn, William Quade, Carl Quade and Sarah Quade; and great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Lauren Watters.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2011 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church by Pastor Mark A. Kloha. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today, April 7, 2011 at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland.
