Bobby Jack Faulkner Sr. (1935-2009)
Bobby Jack Faulkner Sr., 74, of Ashland, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, surrounded by family and friends in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland after an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 13, 1935, in Ashland, a son of the late Fred and Ethel Ball Faulkner.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Judy Leslie Faulkner. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Earl, George and Harry and his sister, Ethel Kate Keeton.
He is survived by his brother, Bill and sisters, Sue Holbrook and Betty Hayes.
Bob was adored and deeply loved by his four children, Bobby Jack (Janet) of South Point, Ohio, Hope Daniels (Dean) of Martinsburg, W.Va., Ronnie (Joyce) of Ashland and Robin Faulkner (Jim Moore) of Pittsburgh, Pa. His six grandchildren brought him great joy and laughter, Rose-Linda Stafford (Justin), Scott Daniels (Stephanie), Amy Berry (Craig), Sarah Williams (Rob), Katelyn Faulkner Moore and Jimmy Faulkner Moore. One of his greatest pleasures was watching his five great-grandchildren, Makayla Daniels, Natalee Daniels, Jacob Williams, Kathryn Berry and Jude Stafford.
Bob was a plumber and pipe fitter for Local 248 for 57 years. He was also a member of Brush Creek Baptist Church. Bob was a Hometown Hero for his generosity in making wooden angels and sharing them throughout the community and beyond.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland by Frank Hackworth, Tom Jackson and Elwood Henecke officiating. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to a favorite charity.
