Betty Hamlin

April 15, 1932 — June 6, 2019

Betty Jean Dixon Hamlin, 87, passed away on June 6, 2019 at the Community Hospice Care Center. She was born on April 15, 1932 in Ashland to the late Elmer and Mary Ross Dixon. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son Randy Dee Hamlin, four brothers, Wayne Dixon, Joseph Dixon, Elmer Dixon and Franklin Dixon.

Betty was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years Park Hamlin of Ashland, KY; a son Larry Hamlin of Catlettsburg, KY; a daughter Leanna McGuire and husband Steve of Ashland, KY; a sister Linda Duke and husband David of Ashland, KY; Grandchildren Zachary McGuire, Abby McGuire, Alex Hamlin and Desirae Hamlin; and several special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel on Monday at 1:00 PM and will be officiated by Pastor Ken Gowin with burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be on Monday at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until service time.
