Barry Smith

November 9, 1955 — August 10, 2018

Barry Lee Smith passed in Peace on August 10, 2018, at Community Hospice. He was loved and will be sadly missed by his wife, Cynthia Smith. He was the proud father of Dustin Lee Smith, who is married to Ashleigh Graham-Smith. He adored his two granddaughters, Lilian Reese Smith and Norah Kate Smith. He was active supporter of their activities, anything for his girls made him happy.
Other family members who will miss him sadly, include his loving parents, Bobby Gene Smith and Betty Lou Smith, and his sisters Becky Derifield and Beverly Neiffer. In-laws George and Yvonne Arrington will also miss him greatly, as will many members of his extended family.

Barry was a Member of Local 181, and a true Union brother.
His passion was fishing. He began as a child in farm ponds and progressed to a National Competition level, by fishing the All American Bass Tournament. He made many lifelong friends through his fishing trips. Although they are too numerous to mention, he enjoyed their times spent together.
Barry was a loyal friend to many and would often take time, to help others in any way he could. He valued and respected friendship. He will be missed.

Final good byes are scheduled for Thursday, August 16, 2018, at the Steen Funeral Home, 1501 Central Avenue in Ashland Kentucky, and will begin at 2: pm. A ceremony of his passing to begin at 3pm.

In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that any remembrance for Barry be donated to the Community Hospice where they made his last days comfortable and allowed him to pass with peace and dignity.
