Arvis Daniels 1920-2010
SOUTH POINT - Arvis Daniels, 89, of South Point, Ohio, passed away Wednesday May 19, 2010, in the VA Medical Center Huntington, W.Va.
He was born June 30, 1920, at Ivel, Ky., a son of the late Mart and Etta Spaulding Daniels. He was a retired aviation electrician with the military and former owner of Dan Tax and Tax Masters. He was a member of Westwood Enterprise Baptist Church and Fred M. Gross Lodge 953 of Westwood.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Monna Darene Daniels; a sister, Loreta Daniels; three brothers, Henry, Ervin and Jarvis Daniels; a granddaughter, Stephanie Xander; and a son-in-law, Charles Trimble.
Survivors include three children, Paul (Leslie) Daniels of Greenup, Sharon Trimble of Cory, Pa., and Larry (Debra) Daniels of Newport News, Va.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five siblings, Earl Daniels of Springfield, Ohio, Helen Schmalstig of South Point, Ohio, Cecil Daniels of South Point, Howard Daniels of Kettering, Ohio, and David Daniels of Centerville, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2010, at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville by Weston Taylor. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland, with military graveside rites by VFW Post 6878 of Proctorville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2010, at the funeral home.
