Alexander H. "Ham" Collinsworth, 82, of Ashland, died Monday, Nov. 24 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born Feb. 23, 1932, in Magoffin County, a son of the late Green and Kitti Howard Collinsworth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Estella Groves, and a brother, Abe Collinsworth.
Mr. Collinsworth served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was retired from East Processing at Armco. He attended Grace Church of the Nazarene. He also was a Kentucky colonel and a member of American Legion Post 76.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Collinsworth; two daughters, Cynthia (Jim) Gehringer and Anity Collins, both of Ashland; a son, Russell (Lisa) Fannin, of Ashland; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, William "Tim" (Wynell) Collinsworth of Ashland; and a sister, Wandalene Bailey of Ashland.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30 at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland by the Rev. Rodney Atkins. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Mausoleum. Friends may call beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
