Alan Robinson

Alan Ray Robinson, 55, of Ashland, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at his residence. He was born on October 4, 1958 in Ashland to the late Lloyd and Mary Frances Price Robinson.
Alan was a 36 year employee at American Electric Power and was a long range planner. He was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church and taught Sunday School at Rose Hill and at the Ashland Group Home. Alan loved to hunt and fish with his family and friends and was an avid UK basketball fan; He was a very people person who was selfless and loved helping others. He loved to cook, especially with his granddaughters, and was always present at the ball field for Katelyn's games.
He is survived by his wife Kim Brittain Robinson of Ashland, Ky.; a son Jeffrey Robinson of Ashland, Ky.; a daughter Rebecca Robinson Cannoy and husband Derek of San Diego, CA.; brothers Donald (Nancy) Robinson of Keensville, FL., and Thomas (Barbara) Robinson of Ashland, Ky.; sisters Phyllis Roberts and Melba Kay Gibson both of Ashland, Ky.; two granddaughters Katelyn Ferguson and Skylar Cannoy; in-laws, Bill and Barbara Brittain of Owensville, Ky.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel with Reverend Gary Arrington and Dr. Ronnie Mayes officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 10:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM.
